Salem Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis 'Salem')
The needle-like, evergreen leaves of common rosemary have been used since the dawn of civilization as a culinary and medicinal herb. The Latin name rosmarinus means 'Dew of the Sea', a reference to its pale, purplish-blue flowers and the fact that was often grown near the Mediterranean. This interesting plant also works well for a variety of landscape purposes. Its trusses of delicate flowers last through spring into summer. Originally cultivated from Old Salem North Carolina, a lovely upright-growing Rosemary with beautiful blue-violet blossoms. This Rosemary is also considered as a ‘Bushy Blue.’ * Deer & Drought Resistant * Attracts: Honey Bees Ornamental Characteristics Category Shrub Seasonal foliage Color Berries Environmental Characteristics
