Weeping River Birch 'Summer Cascade'

Summer Cascade, a new form of weeping river birch from North Carolina, makes a large mounding shrub if left to its own devices; or it can be trained to any moderate height by staking upright, pruning, and allowing its top branches to trail. It also has flexible new growth that will adapt to sculpting in any shape for topiary applications. This fast-growing plant tolerates wet soils and summer heat. For best results, it should be grown where it can benefit from adequate irrigation and low pH soils. * Rarely Damaged by Deer * Photos courtesy of Toms Creek Nursery in Denton, NC Ornamental Characteristics Category Large Shrub or Small Tree Environmental Characteristics
