Green flushed and veined with maroon purple. All Helleborus are very early spring bloomers, blooming even before Azaleas do. Proven Winner. They do best in filtered shade with winter protection from harsh winds. During mild winters the foliage is evergreen. Cool soil is the key to success with Lenten Rose.
